Last year, Iran said it was holding a large number of minor and more significant al-Qaida members captured in its territory. It also has said it has handed over more than 500 suspected al-Qaida operatives, mostly Saudis, to their respective countries

now remind me again why we are friends with this country?

Iran only cracks down on Al Qaeda because Al Qaeda is everything Iran isn't. Iranians and Arabs do not get along and Arabs in Iran are probably beaten up on site (there is a lot of Arab hate in Iran).

But ....

Iran does support Hezbollah. The head of the Republican Guard in Iran even said Iran helped create Hezbollah. He poked fun at the President for not supporting these "terrorist" and called him a coward. Yes he labeled them as terrorist and he said he was proud of them. If you don't know the President has no real power and this head of the republican guard troops is probably one of the most trusted people by the head mullahs. The President's term is over anyways.

First the Republican Guard = Iraq. It was a branch of the army in Iraq created by Saddam, so excuse me if I dismiss your entire statement as hyperbole because of this statement. There may have been a general who may have made statements about the lack of support by Iran's President but then again in Pakistan you have members of Pakistan's ultra secret ISI spy agency who have been quoted and video taped saying that they support Al Qaeda, Bin Laden and his cause against America.

So your statement really amounts to a whole lot of nothing when compared to the statements of support made by one of our "allies" toward Al Qaeda and their cause. A nation who might I add has nukes and who's millitary dictator president admited to selling nuke technology to Iran, North Korea and god knows who else.

Second Iran is a strict Shiite nation where Al Qaeda is a Sunni organization that views Shiites in contempt just as much as it views the West in contempt. Shiite and Sunni governments and peoples have a long history killing each other.

Third Hezbollah was created in Lebanon by Sunni Palestinian refugees in the early 80's influenced by unorthodox Lebanese Shiite clerics teachings and their acceptance of suicide bombing as means to achieve martyrdom and victory. The unorthodox Lebanese Shiite clerics gained the respect of Hezbollah because they helped them when thousands of Palestinians were kicked out of Israel and sent over the border to Lebanon. These clerics provided them with aide and shelter as they were ignored by the Shiite orthodox led Lebanese government for the most part and left to rot on the border. Of course Iran does support and tolerate Hezbollah cells in Iran because it does not support US/Isreal interests for obvious reasons.

If you want me to label them Revolutionary Guards because globalsecurity.com does then I will. They stand for the same thing. To protect the current regime.

Arabs don't like Iranians because they are shiites. They attacked Iran and killed millions of Iranians. All the Arabs backed Saddam Hussein when he invaded Iran, yet none of them stood by him when he invaded Kuwait (funny...). Iranians will never sympathize with Arabs who murdered their sons and daugthers. They also claim the Persian Gulf as being called the Arab Gulf and probably paid National geographic to display it as such. Why would anyone call the Persian Gulf the Arab gulf? It has been called the Persian Gulf for many years now. I don't see Iranians hating Arabs becase they are Sunni. They clearly bring up the Arab-Persian war as their reason. Maybe some do, but I haven't met any of those Iranians.

I never said Iran created Hezbollah. I told you what a certain individual said. If you want to discredit my statement go ahead, but I am providing you with videos...

Here are the videos I am reffering to where the Commander and members representing the government have said such statements: You can make up your own mind:

Like I said the comments made pale in comparison to the support stated and given by agents of Pakistan's feared ISI agency.

Well it can be that the people of Pakistan support these terrorist organizations while the people of Iran do not. Governments have their own rule, but the people do not have to agree.
