So my z87 extreme 4 has an IR header. What do I need to get it setup for a remote? I tried to google but not coming up with much. Thanks!

In order for it to work you have to have USB 2.0 connectors on your case, and then plug those USB connectors into the CIR pins and the bottom half of the adjacent USB pins. What this gets you is a remote control that can turn your computer on and off, in addition to media control buttons. To be honest I think you would be better off with a standard WMC remote. Which can still wake your PC from sleep. Unless you really want to have the on/off feature then get the ASRock remote.

Edit: Ok, I looked at images of your motherboard on NewEgg and couldn't find a USB 2.0 header with CIR pins next to it. You may have IRDA pins on your motherboard. But I couldn't find that either. If it is IRDA, then that's for data, not remote control. It was used for old PDA's and printers. It was really problematic at maintaining a connection, so IRDA is a dead technology.
