Howdy all,

I've got a few games that use the IPX protocol for multiplayer games (i.e. starcraft). Is it possible to set up a VPN or something that'll allow me to play these games over the internet with my brother?

Or am I SOL? :)

Thanks,

BB

Yes.

I've done it before but with Cisco routers using a different kind of tunneling called GRE. I really have no idea how to do it otherwise. Maybe windows2000 built-in VPN can do it. try searching MS knowledge base.

Try Kali - I think it does exactly this. There's also an old program called Khan 95 whose manufacturer has gone belly-up. I did some searching on google and found one link that seems to have a working download of it, however. Looks like a time-bomb version, so you're better off with Kali.

Microsoft VPN Tunneling will also do IPX through the tunnel but I too agree that Kali is the best and easiest bet to get your gaming on.

If you are playing Starcraft though you should just log into Battle.net since its free.

wow, thanks for the advice. I'll give kali a shot.

for starcraft battle.net works fine, but for others, no go...

Thanks all!
