IPS screen on Asus Laptop?

I am considering buying an Asus N56VJ-S4158H laptop. Most indications show that it does have a matte IPS screen, but I can't find anything that says it 100% definitively. I've called Asus, but the the lady I spoke to couldn't help unless I had a serial number. PC World and Currys (the retailers) aren't much help.

I've been trying to figure out the model codes, but without any luck.

Even Asus's own website seems to indicate that N56VJ models may come with one of two screens: 15.6" HD (1366x768)/Full HD (1920x1080)/Wide View Angle LED Backlight (I take this to mean that it may be either HD or Full HD which is supplied).


I've been told that all N56 models with a 1080 HD screen are IPS... Can anyone confirm this?

are you talking about the n56vj or the newer (and current) n550jv?

The N56vj has a nice matte screen but certainly not an IPS (same screen as the n56vz too). There are a lot of reviews for these two.

N550jv - yes, an IPS. Note there are two basic model - with and without a touchscreen.

But what are you looking for?
