Dear forum,

I am searching for a new display for all purposes, mainly some private photo works (therefore IPS), gaming, office and internet.

So far I have tried the Dell U2414H but given that I only sit 2 feet away I found it too large (and at such a close distance I also found the resolution at 1920x1080 a bit unsatisfactory).

I am now interested in an IPS display size either 21.5" or 22", I hope that at this size the same resolution 1920x1080 will look a bit better. Unfortunately nowadays it seems hard to find anythig good in this format.

I found these:

Asus VX229H

Dell P2214H

Advice anyone? Thank you!

base on the asus sucks.

dell has vesa and is way more sturdy, much cleaner design.

if you need hdmi, go with the asus.

if you don't need hdmi, get the dell.

Thank you. True, I am not a fan of the Asus base either. However, I would not make this a deal breaker if the Asus was the better display... Also about the hdmi/dvi issue, I would solve this with an adapter, so not much of a difference here in real life.

Any first hand knowledge regarding responsiveness, color reproduction, ghosting etc., the "hidden" stuff that matters? Any more opinions?
