Can I copy uncompressed (WAV) files to said device?

How about 24/96 audio formats?

Future versions should have this capability along with AES/BU connectivity both in and out.

No, you can't play .wavs but instead when you try to put a .wav file in your iPod iTunes will convert it into .mp3

Edit: uhhh nvm. i just read that you wrote uncompressed. dunno what that is so I don't know if that'll work

I highly doubt it would play a wav file since itunes doesn't even support wavs.

If it doesn't support .wav, I'm sure you can convert the files to Apple Lossless...

iTunes for OS X plays .wav and Apple claims .wav compatibility of the iPod here. The only supported lossless format is Apple Lossless though.

Well actually the intended application isn't going to work with those proprietary formats.

It's not even going to be playing back music but that's another discussion. The case seems to be reasonably durable and cheap so this may have potential!

i'm just guessing really, based on previous lossless like flac. the apple lossless is made for low processing since they had to get it to work with the ipods processor though

not that it matters, i don't use it anyways. and won't use wma lossless. sticking with ipod like most for the near future. plus i'd rather not support ms anymore then necessary.

The amount of misinformation is staggering.

1. wavs are supported by itunes but apple lossless make them uncessary

2. YOu can copy wavs to ipod

3. 24/96 khz material will not work to play, but if you use the ipod as a removable drive, you can store them on there...
