IPODs: I can't copy from Ipod --> Computer??

It won't let me copy the mp3's on the Ipod to my computer. Is this the case for all Ipods or is it because I'm using a Mac version w/ Xplay?

That's by design.

There are HD based MP3 players without that limitation, but the Ipod doesn't allow it.

Yeah but I thought the Ipod could be used as a portable harddrive so you can transfer non-mp3 files from computer to computer?

lol, all i do is just search the drive (ipod) for *.mp3, then copy them all.

Windows. if Hoeboy has MacOpener installed, he shoudl be able to, too.

sorry to hijack your thread, but when are the refreshed iPods coming out? the newer thinner 20gb and 30gb and 40gb models? I'm waiting for those to get a price drop on the 10gb one.

EDIT: oh, and speaking of ipod, does anybody know how to get ephpod to not edit the filenames of my mp3s to "2001.mp3" and the like?
