iPODs and USB2.0s

I got an iPOD and I would have thought USB2.0 would be faster at transfering songs. But it's actually kinda slow, taking about 1 hour to transfer 20GB. Don't know if that's normal.

Anyway, when I plug the iPOD in it doesn't say anything, but this one time I resumed from standby with the iPOD plugged in and it told me I wasn't using a USB2.0 port. I pretty sure all should be USB2.0, so I'm not sure what it's talking about.

Can anyone make any sense of this?

How old is your computer? If you built it, what is the brand and model number of your motherboard. On some older machines when USB2.0 first came out, only some ports would be USB2.0.

One hour does seem about right however. It takes me about 2-3 minutes to do a gig on my nano, give or take.

Half a year old sporting an MSI Neo4-F.

So you think it could be that right after starting up from standby that USB2.0 isn't fully on yet.

drivers are the newest. I don't know how to tell if something is functioning at 2.0 speeds or not.

Maybe you could go into your BIOS and make sure USB 2.0 is enabled.

your fine...
i downloaded 14 GB to my 60 GB ipod video and it took me about 35-40 minutes. 1h for 20 GB totally normal.

nanos dont count dudes, their flash memory.
40 to 50 secs per GB? id like proof of that.
