What are your thoughts? Is the quality good?

Can you record someone speaking across a conference room without any problems?

Can you pull the recording off the iPod later and put it on the PC? If Yes, what's the format of the file it takes?

Yes you can pull off the ipod to the pc and i think it is a standard wave file or apples version, an aiff file. ipodlounge


- edit: ipodlounge says it can record up to 100 ft, but i would look through the forums to see user reviews as well.
 
Wow, yet more reason to buy something with integrated voice recorder 😛 (IE: Not an IPod)
Scope out online stores and see what people have said in those places too.
Best place to go is google and search for reviews.
 
it only has a 8kHz sampling rate
i researched it when i was planning to buy one but it is not that great
okay but not great
