IPOD Video owners ... need case/screen protector advice

I just bought a while Ipod video for my wife for our anniversary. As you probably already know the unit will scratch just by looking at it. I want to get her a protective cover + case before too long. Anyone with any experience that can make a recommendation? I'd appreciate it.

Also, if you bought your case/screen cover off of ebay I would appreciate a link. Thanks for your help!

I need some advice too, I want to get one of those skins, that is kind of rubbery, and is on there really right, but I also want one that has a screen protector. What my friend did, was just buy a think little piece of clear plastic, and put that on the screen, and put the skin over that, but I'm not sure if thats the best idea.

Step 1: invisibleSHIELD: A clear, scratch-proof heavy-duty Saran wrap available for iPods:

http://www.shieldzone.com/

I wrap everything I can in them, they work great! Even my laptop is covered in one of those. They're not cheap (probably around $25 for a full iPod wrap), but they work great. I'd advise getting the model with the click-wheel cutout as it adds some friction to the touchpad. If it's already scratched up, you might try using Brasso first, although the invisibleSHIELD does a pretty good job hiding scratches:

Step 2: Case - Anything will do, hard or soft. Just to prevent it from drops. I like oddball cases and got mine from Foofbags in Australia:

I have a green slipcase for my iPod (scroll down on the page for unique iPod cases). I also bought a cable turtle to wrap my earbuds in, they're pretty nifty 🙂

Thanks for your replies. As fragile as the case for the IPOD is I cannot believe that Apple doesn't provide some sort of protection for it ... wait, this is Apple right? Any way to generate revenue Apple ...

I bought a skin and a clear plastic case for mine. Both are still unused and the ipod is been collecting dust in my drawer. Neither of them appealed to me after they arrived as much as like you, I wanted some REAL protection, but I'm sure most people find them fine.

That invisibleSHIELD is a rip off, 20 bux for a piece of plastic?!?!? You can get it here for less than 10 bux shipped! It's a full body wrap that includes the cutoff for the buttons and wheel.

I have invisibleSHIELD on my Nano. Got to watch the bubbles on install or you are dead.

Just use a credit card and wrap the edge with cloth to squeeze the bubbles out.
