I don't really need the space, videos would be nice but my main concern is durability. I do not want something that will break if it falls on the ground once or twice. Im open to other brands...However, I think the iriver is not available in Pakistan. Major brands will be easier for claiming warranty incase something goes wrong :p

I have an iPod Video. I've dropped it a few times with no problems. Can't speak for the mini. My first iPod broke, apple replaced it with no problems, but then it was stolen, so I got the video. Good Luck.

My iPod video's quality is top notch, very solid and feels well built, but I have never dropped it.

I have the IPod Mini. Dropped it a couple times and made enough damage that the case has scars if you will. Working wise, its still fine. It would be nice to have color and be able to play videos though...

i have the mini and it is pretty durable. it is cheaper now then the video (like duh!) but it doesn't have color or play videos or show photos. however, it's sound quailty is very good and if you get the 2G one, their battery life is better then the video's. (apple claims 20 for the video and 18 for the mini, however testing has showed the mini to have more like 26. don't know about the video.)

Apple and quality should NEVER be in the same paragraph.

If you don't need the high storage capacity or video capability, I'd highly suggest getting the Nano + Agent18 shield. I have the 60GB Video iPod and find it rather bulky. Although I do have the Agent18 shield for it, so that adds more bulk to the body.

He does not live in the US.

Damn sorry, I meant the nano...They dont make minis anymore...

I have a nano, and I like it because it's small and cute. However, it does seem a bit too small and fragile to be practical. It's small enough that it will slip through your fingers and if it begins to slip, it's so light you'll probably bobble it, although it will probably handle a fall to the ground better than a larger one with a hard drive. It feels like it would break easily, so I'd never want to put it in my pocket even though it will fit.

I find myself gently holding it because it's too delicate to put elsewhere.

If you meant the video or nano, then I'd say as far as durability goes the nano is better.

The nano is smaller and lighter, so it can handle falls a little better than the video. Also, the nano uses a flash-drive, which is solid-state so is not prone to mechanical failure like the hard drive in the Iopd video.

Make sure to get a case for it. No, DEFINITELY get a case for it, and a good one at that

i have a 30GB video and i have a felt case for it from radtech.us and still works perfectly fine after accidentally dropping it.

you are only paying for size for the nano, not space...i think that a 30GB video is the best offer apple has right now.

What is the battery life on the nano and the video? (Im not talking about bullsh!t specs, I want real personal accounts of it...)

I'm in the market for a player but I want something that goes half way between batt-life and space, from what I heard video is all space, no batt-life.

i get around 12 hours...and thats with a 2 second battery time limit and randomly changing songs and quick couple of minute clips and no pictures.

30GB video gets up to 14 hours. 60GB gets up to 20 because it holds a bigger battery.

nano gets up to 10 hours i think.
