ipod troubles?

3 month old ipod, songs from a different computer 3,000 miles away.
Can I still upload the songs to itunes or will they get wiped out because my ipod was connected to a different computer first?

Will copypod solve this issue?

 
Shouldn't matter as long as your options are set to sync both ways. I don't think syncing ever deletes files in order to match what's on your computer... and if it does the folks at apple deserve a swift kick to the testiculars for implementing such a moronic sync rule. But still nothing should be deleted off your ipod if you have computer sync on which I think is a default.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

I downloaded copypod, tried to copy the files over to itunes but something unusual happened. The songs listed were clear, and unclickable.
I can't listed to songs via itunes, but I can on copypod.


I just want to be able to run songs from itunes unto my ipod. Wtf?

More like the RIAA, im sure that apple does not give a crap about the songs as long as you buy their ipod. Last I checked, most (if not all) of the money spent on itunes goes to the RIAA and the reason apple does it (that strange copy protected AAC(?)) is to make the music on itunes exclusive to apple products to encourage people to buy their ipod.

I can't download music off limewire (uncopyrighted of course), transfer it through copypod and copy it into itunes anymore?!!!

WTF? How do I get songs? Do they honestly expect me to pay 1 dollar per song?!!!!!!


I paid $350 for this contraption, and if I want to use limwire I should be allowed to use f**king limewire!!!

After running copypod and putting the songs into itunes, I see them in my ipod list but they are unclickable?!!!

This is BULL**T!!

 
download ephpod and copy the files off your ipod with it, then import them into itunes ... then you are good to go


you'll have to install ephpod onto your system then connect you ipod...ephpod should recognize it and open up...looks pretty similar to itunes ... kinda

Yes, you can certainly put non iTMS music on your ipod and play it. The restrictions mentioned are that you cannot play iTMS music on other devices.

They certainly do deserve said kick. I'm pretty sure if you have your iPod set to sync automatically, you will have everything wiped out if you connect to the wrong computer. I'm not sure because I always turn auto sync off immediately.

Yeah, cuz there's tons of "uncopyrighted" music on limewire. :roll:

iTunes will ask you if you want to wipe your ipod if you hook the ipod into a different computer. It doesn't just do it without asking. Some people think it does because, apparently, they blindly hit yes or something.

Try ephpod, sharepod, anapod, or any other tool if copypod is not working.

According to a recent CNN.com article, artists make only 10 cents on the dollar for iTunes songs. Most of it goes to the record label. Apple, to my knowledge, doesn't make a profit off iTunes. As you said, they make their money on the iPod lineup.
 
what part of 'sync' is too complicated exactly? the whole point of sync'ing is to match what is on your computer to your ipod, so if you delete an album (or uncheck it) you don't have to then go and delete it from your ipod as well, it's all done automatically. kind of like sync'ng up your address book on your cell phone, but then i guess it's not the same because you aren't stealing addresses.

Other units do two way syncs. If you have a new song on the mp3 player that's not on your computer, it adds it to the player. It's not that hard to determine that the song was deleted from the computer as the last "action" versus the song was added to the player on another computer.
