iPod Touch Syncing Question

guyver01

Lifer
I have a 2nd Gen iPod touch.
I've got about 6-7Gigs of Songs on it... 1-2gigs of apps and 1-2gigs of podcasts.

My harddrive recently failed (bad sectors) so i've replaced it.
I reinstalled itunes on my computer and now when i go to sync it, it wants to erase everything.

the apps and podcasts i dont care about.. those are easy to re-add.

but the music... isn't so easy to replace. i wont buy songs from itunes, so i've gone and imported my cds, friends cds, borrowed cds from the library, etc... needless to say, it would take forever to get all the cds again to import the songs.

is there a way to sync the ipod touch to a new harddrive so i dont lose everything? *note: i do not want to jailbreak it.. so dont suggest it*

thanks!

Is this on Windows or OS X? If OS X, then you can try Senuti, it should get you your music back.

Just import them from your local backup. If that fails, import from your off-site backup.

Oh...

Wait...

nm...

(So, did you buy a backup drive when you picked up your new drive, or are you waiting for this to happen again?)
