I just downloaded an app using the itunes store on this laptop. However, this isn't normally the laptop that is used w/ my ipod so it isn't "sync"ed with it. seems like the only way to move this app over is to sync it which would delete all apps from my ipod touch. Is this as stupid as it sounds?? or is there any other way to do this?

you can have itunes on multiple machines and sync without deleting your other stuff. IIRC You just have to edit the settings in the sync tab.

Why not just connect wirelessly with your touch and download it from the app store directly into it?

But then when you gotta sync with your computer? Will it then download to your computer? I kinda forget how it is, but I've done it a few times wirelessly, but I try to do most of my downloads through PC. It makes updating nice also.

So between putting this in "all things apple" and "gadgets gear and phones" you put this in off topic? There's a program that replaces iTunes that let's you drag an drop to your ipod... Google it
