iPod touch and streaming iTunes over WiFi

Is this functionality available out of the box? I want to use an iPod touch on a dock and stream from my iTunes server.

If not, are there decent apps that will do that, and look OEM?

There is nothing for free that I have found. Orb will do it, but is $10. And this is sorely lacking functionality that Apple has not put in there. Either due to not getting to it yet, forgetting about it, not wanting it there period.

Hmm, such a shame. You have WiFi in the device, it would be awesome to set up a wireless music system just using an iPod touch or five.

iExplorer will stream music from an SMB share over wifi. Not terribly complicated to set up, just have to share your music folder and connect to it.

Simplify Media's app did exactly what you wanted before Google bought it out and removed it from the App Store. Maybe it's in Cydia?

It doesn't matter. That application requires Simplify's backend servers to be up, which is no longer the case.

Hmm. Dottunes looks like it may be the answer. Need to check that I can run it on my Windows Home Server system.
