I have Vista x64 and received an iPod Touch 8 GB for Christmas.
Unfortunately, I cannot get the device to do anything but charge.
The manual recommends installing iTunes, but when I try to run the latest version of iTunes, a window pops up saying that I should install the 64-bit version of iTunes, which apparently has not yet been released to the general public.
Maybe my expectations are too reasonable? Vista x64 has only been out for 12 months now.
I wouldn't really care too much about this, but my iPod Touch 8 GB keeps getting detected by Windows as a digital still camera device. I can open Explorer and view the device as an empty disk, but I cannot actually paste files or in any way change the contents of the drive.
Even a cheap $15 USB keychain drive supports the generic USB disk interface!
That's the bare minimum functionality for an audio player IMO.
So...what am I missing here?
