Ipod Touch 4g - Parental Controls & Filtering?

My daughter is getting an IPOD Touch for christmas and I want to try and protect her where I can.

I have looked at the Parental Controls and they are too limited -- ie I don't to necessarily turn off Youtube, web access, etc.

I mainly would like to block the porn etc.

Any good suggestions?

I have googled and there seem to be some apps available for this but like most apps some like them some don't so I guess I am looking for good recommendations.

What do you envison your daughter doing/going? Is she really going to look up pr0n on safari or search for inappropriate youtube videos? I let my 7 and 9 year olds use our two ipod touches. They play games and listen to music. No parental controls needed for that. We don't let them have their own itunes account to where they can buy anything they want and dont let them have the password to ours. That's just common sense.

Not giving her an itunes account password no.

I just know that sometimes when you search for things (innocent stuff) on google, bing etc weird wonderful porn or inappropriate sites come up. Not her fault in any way. It just happens.

Trying to avoid that if I can.

this. as well as having a router/ firewall that filters before it even gets to the itouch. i have mine set up that way for my kids as well, so far even i cant get pr0n to show on them without getting into my router.

You are completely safe, Jobs doesn't allow porn on Apple products.
