iPod Touch 2G doesn't show up on different Mac?

I own a 16 GB iPod Touch 2G that is synced with my iMac at home running Tiger.

I am visiting my parents and am trying to sync on my dad's iMac recently upgraded from Tiger to Leopard.

iPod doesn't show up at all when plugged in and powered up.

It does show up when I "forget all remotes", but I can't change setting to sync with this computer.

Any ideas?



edit: I think it is because I have automatic syncing with select playlists selected on iMac at home. Is there any way other than choosing erase all data on iPod option? (and will this return iPod to factory shipped settings?)
