*Ipod Tax*

Legislators in Wisconsin are mobilizing against a proposal they call the "iPod tax," in a battle over online music and movies that could soon spread across the United States.

At issue is whether consumers need to pay tax on digital downloads such as movies or songs purchased from Apple Computer's iTunes store. Already in a few states, those who don't voluntarily pay a few extra cents of tax on their 99-cent downloads are technically breaking the law.

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle now wants his state to start collecting taxes on digital music, videos and software. Key Republicans in the GOP-dominated legislature say they will block the proposal, but administration officials say they're just trying to make things fair.

Doyle is a dumbass. He would fvckin tax me for breathing his air if he could.

This is Wisconsin, what did you expect, a intelligent governor?

Tommy Thompson was one hell of a good governor. Bush stole him. 🙁

Let me tell you how it will be;
There's one for you, nineteen for me.
'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don't take it all.
'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

if you drive a car - I'll tax the street;
if you try to sit - I'll tax your seat;
if you get too cold - I'll tax the heat;
if you take a walk - I'll tax your feet.

Taxman!

'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Don't ask me what I want it for, (ah-ah, mister Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more. (ah-ah, mister heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Now my advice for those who die, (taxman)
Declare the pennies on your eyes. (taxman)
'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

And you're working for no one but me.

Taxman!

I would rather see no taxes applied, but if there must be, then I would just want the internet tax be an anverage of all sales taxes of all states. Since I live in Cali, my ?"iPod tax" would be less than if I paid sales tax based on cali.

Don't these people have better things to do?

To them there is no higher, more noble pursuit than the search for extra revenue.
I think these idiots should learn to wise up on their spendings rather than to squeeze out every cent out of the tax payers' pockets.

OMG! Someone trying to enforce sales tax! :Q

But... if you're purchasing it from another state, isn't a law forcing you to pay tax on the purchase unconstitutional - regulating interstate commerce?
