"chubby wallet" is that a BBW site?

No seriously what is the deal? I would totally love to get this for an in-law at $6.14 if it works or not.

hot, the price was $6.14 yesterday, then sometime later it went back up to $49.99, now it's back down to $6.14.

at this price you can't go wrong for iPod speakers. even if it works for a month i got my money's worth.

Guys, just a warning that most people that ordered these on the fatwallet thread are returning them because they are so cheaply made. They are not ipod charging docks, just a piece of plastic with cheap speakers.

Hmm.. Maybe I shouldn't have jump on this deal after all.
Well, I hope they sound at least better than a radio clock. I don't expect them to have any bass.

I just received mine and he is correct. These are junk. The plastic part in the back that is supposed to work as a stand does not even hold the thing up. The sound is horrible. My alarm clock sounds better. I bought a set for both my wife and I and they are not worth the 13 bucks I payed for them. Oh well it was worth a shot

People on FW have called OD to complain, some CSR's have credited the moula and told the customer to keep or throw away the speakers. It isn't worth OD's effort to pick the item up for return.

Then what are the "AC adapter and USB cable" used for?

<-Checks the "Mommy bought me an iPod back when they were $300" brother-in-law off the Christmas list.

The AC adaptor is to power the speakers if you aren't using batteries. The USB cable does nothing since there is no place to connect it. At least that is what I am reading on the fatwallet thread.

Don't know if I'm supposed to, but here is the link to the fw thread:

This might make it actually hot. If you call the CSR and tell them you want to return it (if you only have one unit), they might credit you back and just tell you to keep it.
I'm still waiting for mine but from sound of it some people couldn't stand it even for 6 bucks. I might try to return it if it actually makes my ear bleed; otherwise I'm keeping it for what little money I spent on it.

I received 3 of these last night. I was fully ready to come up on here and call all of you complainers "cheap asses" - however, I can't....

This item is totally misrepresented on the description. It doesn't support any type of USB connection at all. I was expecting an AC adapter to power the speakers and a USB connection into the ipod to charge it while playing through the speakers - no such luck.

I called Office Depot and they will be picking them up tomorrow and crediting my $20.00 back.

Also, the plastic speakers are completely junk. I'm surprised it didn't fall apart on the way to my house. I didn't hear audio from them, because I didn't get that far. It pulls audio by going into the headphone jack (yuck).

I strongly recommend not buying this if it is anything more than $0.01.

Wow, you guys really like to bitch and moan about $6 speakers. I knew they wouldn't be the highest quality when I got them, and I think it was worth my $6. The speakers sound like good laptop speakers, and yes, this doesn't have any way to charge an ipod. BFD, that's not what it's intended to do.

That's what a "docking station" does. This should be advertised as a "speaker" only and not a "docking station" if it doesn't plan on plugging in through the bottom of the iPod or charging at the same time.

Grrrr. It came today. No USB cable included. Gift downgraded to brother-in-laws kid.

Update: Called 888-GO-DEPOT to complain about the missing usb cable and the fact that it was not a docking station. They asked if I wanted to return it. I said yes. They said you can keep it and the $6.14 has been credited back to us. :)
