Ipod Rumor: New Video Ipod to be announced this week!

From the grapevine, i've heard it includes a 3.5" Widescreen display, touch screen controls, and bluetoth capability.

No word on MSRP yet, but it is slated to replace the current 60G Video in the Ipod lineup so i'd assume $399.

I got a bricked PMP that i got from costco so a return on that should add the fist $200 into my pocket 🙂
 
That rumor is pretty old, though I don't doubt that a new ipod is coming. Seeing how apple usually places bulk orders 6 months ahead of time, I doubt they're going to eliminate the current ipod from the lineup. So I'd bank on it being quite a while for a new ipod to be introduced, or else a new one might be introduced at a stratospheric price. I think Apple will spread themselves too think if they keep adding another line to their ipods, so I would imagine that the traditional ipod would be replaced with the rumored one in Q4 06.
 
well April 1st came and went without any Apple Event or announcement. Frankly, the screen is going to scratch like hell so it wouldn't sell. i don't think it'll buy it. I plan on getting the iPod Video/5G soon as an upgrade to my mini, but i'd never get that.
 
I'll never own one of those overvalued pieces of crap, but I have always wondered when they'll release a "wireless" version. Bluetooth just makes sense for something like when you're in the car.
 
I'm gonna call this one as fake. There is absolutely no way they can make an ipod with witch a lcd touchscreen exposed like that. Anyone with a PDA will tell you how easily those screens scratch up and how fragile the LCDs are. You'd have to ship an ipod with a sliding case or something, because you'll crack it in about a week.

But pdas DO have an exposed screen of that size. And a simple flip cover could protect it if needed.
