Ipod question

Is there any way to connect an Ipod to a car stereo directly (without the use of an iTrip or a similar device; no cassette/FM signal things)? Thanks in advance.

You need some sort of "line in" jack on your head unit. Many newer ones have this.

There may be an RCA input on the back of the unit. Especially if you have the ability to select AUX as an input option.

I have heard of people having success with wiring an FM transmitter directly to the antenna input. Sure you could google that if you wanted to.

sorry to thread hijack, but this is on topic,if my unit has an aux in on the front, what do I use to connect it for my ipod?

a wire
More accurately, a cable.

or a cable wire

a cable is made up of wires, it is like many wires working together as a team

a cable is a team of wires, so to speak

if its a pioneer with CD Changer controls you can mod up an adapter for the AUX input. Did that with mine and it's sweet. What kind of headunit is it?

I'm not sure - it's for my cousin in Europe. I forwarded him the information and told him to look whether or not he has a line out port on his head unit. Thanks again to everyone for the quick response!

You can get the cable you want for a couple of bucks at a Radio Shack (probably most any retailer with a good electronics section, but it will be easy to find at the Shack). You want a "male mini plug to male mini plug" audio cable.

I'm quite sure he has a Line Out. What you want is a Line In.
