yes. went straight from box to case. have not removed plastic around touch wheel 😱

I don't believe in protection. My 2nd gen iPod was bare. My Nano is also bare. My Sony PSP is also bare and that scratches easier than iPod.

It's just electronic device. If it scratches, what's the big deal? It just gives me an excuse to upgrade later.

Thats my logic as well. As long as it works fine, and I can read the screen, a few scratches arent going to kill me.
