Ok, Ipod haters please leave, as the Ipod has been bought, so no trying to convince me to purchase a different one, or try and convince me that they are not worth the money.

Now that that is out of the way, The ipod is my sister's. I was looking to get her some accessories for it, as that's what she asked for. I was thinking:

the iTrip
the Belkin car charger
Stand that sits in your cup holder.
and maybe a case. I was thinking this one SPECK PRODUCTS IS-1001 iPod Skin - Frosted Clear
I liked that one because it looked like protects the window, unlike the rubber ones like these cases or am I wrong to think that they don't have something to cover the window?

Anything else you think that could be worth it? Any problems with the batter and the car charger having probs? I know iTrip can have probs, she is in school in an area where she shouldn't have probs with finding an empty station. When she gets back to LA she might have to search for one.

iPod sucks!! :p

:D

A friend of mine just recently setup something to play his iPod in his car (hmmm...funny...iPod is a close typo away from being iPOS :D ). Waiting for him to reply with his details as I'll probably do the same.

Great way to spend IPileOfDough :)

Isn't there a FM modulator so you can play it thru your car speakers?

i don't think the spec covers the LCD.. the iSkin does... i think that's the one.. there's like two or three different ones. I would go for the belkin and hooking to the inputs of the head unit if it has any... i was going to, but my head unit inputs were for a cdchanger only.. grrr.. quite pissed cause i had an 8hr road trip i was going on at the time...

right now she has a '93 accord with a stock head unit, so there are no outputs that I know of. I'll have to check out the iSkin. Thanks.

Uh, that would be good if you were trying to make it sound worse. FM sound quality is just a wee bit better than analog audio tape quality.

Get the iSkin, and don't get the iTrip. The iTrip is horrible unless you set it to Mono mode, which kinda defeats the whole point of a stereo FM Modulator. Get the Belkin Tunecast (the older one, not the new digital one). Very good sound for an FM Modulator.

I just thought of couple killer addons that would make ipod the ultimate toy. How about a wifi or bluetooth addon for ipod that allows the ipod to share its library and browse shared libraries. So whenever you come across soemone with another ipod, you can browse through the shared music and get anything you want, and vice versa. It will also be a great social exchange tool, because you can share your contact info and exchange it with that cute girl listening to the ipod across the train...:)

Another cool addon would be an ir remote control. I hook up my ipod to my amp/stereo setup downstairs. It'll be really cool if I can leave the ipod somewhere, and change the tracks with a remote from across the room.

so awesome

Holy crap :Q That things's freaking awesome!! Despite all that protection would a HDD based player realy survive a solid jolt though? I mean, I know it's all good for joging and all but you can easily take some pretty damn hard hits riding.
the ipod is pretty solid, and the impact will be on snow. i'd be more worried about the ipod crushing my rib cage if a land on it. bones are more brittle than metal :p
