I got myself a 40 gig iPod yesterday... and after putting all my mp3's on it (1,000 of them), i've still got room for 19,000 more...

I've got a bunch of CD's i still havent ripped... but still. I dont think i'll ever run out of space. Has anyone managed to max theirs out??

I don't own an iPod, but I can easily fill up 40 gigs if I rip all of my old CDs. Being a DJ during high school and college allowed me to get a large collection of CDs and write them off of my taxes as a work expense at the same time. I'm sure that if I rip all of my CDs it would easily be in the 100 gig range or if I rip to FLAC, it should make it to 300+ gigs. But then if I do rip to FLAC, I wouldn't be using a iPod then either... oh well, looks like Rio or iRiver for me.

I've got about 7 of my 15 gigs filled up. I could fill up the rest of it up if I like but it's not music I care enough about to waste the time on.

3 out of my 15 gigs used. Would've been happy with a 10 gigger but the 15 was a better deal
I have ~16 gigs of music on my hd but I wouldn't listen to all of it.

mine's is full to the brim -- but I only have a 15 gb.

Speaking of which, if your music library (in itunes) is bigger than your ipod, it is not very easy to decided what gets put on the ipod and what doesn't. I hope apple improves this in the future (no doubt they will need to if they make "mini" ipods).

Considering one of my friend has a collection of 280 GBs, one can fill it all up. My 4gb collection will fit in those mini-ipods coming out soon ;)

I have a Gen2 10GB iPod and I still have about 6 GB left...I've used it as a backup HD and have 3 GB of Band of Brother episodes on it plus around 30 CDs of mp3s

I'm not even close with my 15gb one. However, I think my storage space will be dramatically decreased now that I got the iTrip for Xmas and I'll be playing it in my car.

Mine is close to full. Although I am amazed at my neighbor who's 20gb is full. He has 160gb of mp3's all ripped from his cd's. He used to work in a music store, close 1400 full albums.
