I really want to get a HDD Based Mp3 player and I like the 3rd generation Ipod cuz its so small compared to the Nomad Zen or Archos Jukebox. I read somewhere that the Ipod cant be turned off rather it goes in to suspend mode but continues to consumes power. I don't listen to music 24/7, only use it when I go running or sometimes when I'm at work or at school, meaning that it wont be used all the time and will spend a bit of time sitting in my backpack. How long will the battery last if it were to leave it alone? This is my only problem with the Ipod, I don't want to accidentally kill the battery because I know it will be expensive to replace.
