Is there good software out there to make the iPOD compatible with a PC (I heard that XPlay is suck)?
Also, is there any indication whether Apple is going to release a PC version of the iPOD?
Thanks. >>
i believe XPlay is the only thing out there that will interface the iPod with an x86 system. i have not used it yet so i dont know how good it is. my guess is that apple will not release software to interface the iPod with x86 systems. apple is and has always been hardware based. i have to say, the iPod is an awesome piece of hardware and i love it a lot. fortunately for me, i have a PowerBook. dont think theres anything else out there that will interface the iPod with a Wintel system but good luck in your search.
Well, got my iPod. Decided to go with XPlay. It works pretty good! A little slow in scanning songs on the iPod (when you open a playlist with a lot of songs in it, it takes about 20 seconds to open), and sometimes when transfering a lot of songs I'll get a "refused service error" in the middle of transfer and have to start another where it left off. But overall it works great and I now have a 10gb iPod full with songs from my PC
<< congrats, dude. isnt it a beautiful piece of hardware? >>
I've always been a PC Fan, but man! Apple makes some very beautiful hardware (both visually and in engineering). Even the packaging was beautiful! It kept folding open and open till there lay the iPod.
I hear a iPod with the v1.1 software and the latest XPlay is pretty slick. By the time XPlay is officially released, I'd like to get an iPod. Need to save some money though
