Happy Thanksgiving.

I need to get a gift for a kid with an Ipod. Not sure which one she has.

Do you need some fancy docking station, or can you just hook them up to some powered computer speakers?

The docking stations with speakers look like they will sound like crap.

If computer speakers work, recommend me some good speakers for under $100 that would be good for Rap, Hip Hop, and other crap 17 year old girls listen to these days.

Thanks a bunch.

Second the Logitch brand. Bar none some of the best priced an dbest sounding speakers money can buy. Sure to smoke the sound from any puny docking station.

And a Happy Thanksgiving back to you as well ;)

Puny docking stations = usually $100
Logitech Z-2300 speakers  = usually $100
semi-decent Logitech puny docking station (Logitech mm50) = $125-ish

JBL makes good puny iPod docking stations too, the onstage2 and the ontime.

all mp3 players, ipod's included, output audio to a standard 3.5mm headphone plug. so any computer speakers should work. the docks are cool and there a couple that sound decent.
