I have an iPod Nano 7g that is not turning on. I have a black screen and I get no messages. It doesn't appear that it has been dropped so there is no cosmetic issues. When I hold the sleep/wake button, nothing appears on the screen. I am guessing it needs to be charged. I have tried multiple cables and chargers to see if it is completely dead. I have connected it, hoping, it is charging. I am guessing it may be a battery issue or it is not making contact with the lightning cable. I have connected it to the charger and let it charge for many hours and that doesn't solve the problem.

I think the issue is with the battery. At this point, the iPod is useless and
