iPod Nano: Worth It?

I currently have a 4GB IPod Mini, and I really like it a lot. However, my battery is going bad and the new IPod Nano models look really nice. My mom just bought my dad a 2GB Nano for Christmas, and the thing is, it really caught my attention and now I would like to get one. My question is this: Are the Nano's worth the cash? I like the look and 4GB is more than enough space for me. So what do you think?
 
It must be worth the cash because they are selling like hot cakes.
 
You already have a mini, which makes you cool, so you should get the nano to be even cooler; that's what iPods are best for.
 
Its nice but scratches easy. I personally like the new Creative Zen line. You get more for the money I think and personally its a better unit and not so proprietary.
 
For price versus size I'd much rather have the 30gig iPod than the nano. Combine that with the fact that apple aparently cut some corners with the screan and I'd say the normal sized iPod is a better bet. Physically, all the iPods are small enough that IMHO they are all easy enough to carry around. I'm a 4th gen 20gb iPod owner myself, as well as a powerbook owner, but I'd have to say the nano is a bit pricy just for reduction in size. I'm sure they are great, and if you want one get it. However, before you buy I would urge you to go to a store (apple or otherwise) and compare the 5th gen video iPods w/ the nano before making your purchase. $50 gets you 26gb more storage space in a unit that's pretty small as it is. No doubt the nano is one of the smallest MP3 players out there, but I still think the regular size is the way to go. I know I may need to upgrade soon, I'm slowly outgrowing the 20gb of storage on my 4th iPod. It's always nice to have the extra space, even if you don't think you'll use it right away.
 
if its still under the warrenty cant you get the battery replaced or something? would be the best option. but if you really wanna be cool get the nano. i belive they come with some sort of cover now to protect the screen from scratches.

though i do think its kinda weird to make it that thin, then stick that big of a screen on it.
 
If you want trend factor, go Ipod. If you want practicality (long battery life) I would get something else like a Rio Carbon. I have the 5gb one and the battery life is pretty good.
 
I just won a free iPod nano (2GB) the other week, and it is quite nice. Hard to believe how tiny it is, but you definitely don't want to sit on it accidentally. It comves with a sleeve that should keep it from getting scratched when you aren't using the buttons on the unit itself. Not sure on battery life, I only use it a few hours a day and just plug it in at home anyway. The screen seems pretty nice to me. *shrug*

As for size, I just have a special playlist I use for it. It isn't like I sit around for 100 hours and never want to hear another song again, but that's me. 🙂
