can I play ANY video on the new ipod video??

I dont care about having more than 2-3 gigs of music. But if I can somehow convert and play ANY video on the ipod, i may go for the 30gb bulkier ipod.

so wht u wise men say?

First, my eyes are about to fall out from the grammer and spelling...

Second, I would go with the Nano...I went to BestBuy (I know, I know) and I got to play with both. The Nano is so freakin awesome. Plus, Maximum PC just gave it a 9/10...

the nano is small and awesome...but i would definitely lose it. the video is big, but the screen is HUGE. AND there's video 😉

i dont think you can play/convert any video yet, but the is out there for third party software to come out that'll let you do that eventually.

Go with the video

it depends what you need it for, i would go with the video unless you wanted to do some jogging with it, then i'd go with the nano

edited for the spelling and grammar nazis 😉

Get the nano now, then trade it in and get the widescreen Ipod video early next year when it comes out. Those Nano's, if taken care of, are gonna have excellent resale due to not being a hard drive based player.

you cannot play ANY video. you msut convert it to mpeg4 or h.264 (mpeg4 AVC)

thats what I mean... if there is software that can let me convert any video to that required format, and if the video ipod doesnt act like a communist leader...i am sorta leaning towards it.
What I am concerned abt is ipod limiting playable video to be purchase-only.
However, portability and weight is def. a plus for the nano.
