iPod Nano cracked lcd

I have an ipod nano. Left it in the car on a hot day. LCD cracked. Anything I can do? It is less than one year old.

Well, you should try calling Apple first. It never hurts to see if stuff like this could be covered under warranty. Otherwise, well, Apple did just update the Nano...

IIRC, people have gotten broken nanos replaced free of charge by going to an Apple store. Sounds like a definite YMMV, though, and probably not likely going to happen.

if I recall correctly

your mileage may vary (meaning, not everyone will get the same deal)

urbandictionary.com is a good source for acronyms.

Well, there was an issue with the early Nanos and scratching and cracking, but since this is more or less your fault (leaving it in the heat is a big no-no), I wouldn't expect much sympathy, but you can always try. If nothing else they might offer you a deal to fix it. Keep in mind that you can get a 2GB refurbed Nano direct from Apple for $99 and it carries the same support and warranty that a new one does.

If they won't replace it you can do it yourself, it's pretty easy.

Get yourself a torx driver set and buy a nano screen from http://www.pdaparts.com (about $60), then google for some instructions on taking apart a nano and you'll be set.

If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself PM me and maybe we can sort out some other solution.
