Huge discussion going on Apple's forum about how easy it is to scratch the black model...

I'm now reconsidering if I should get it eventually or wait for better protection for it...

I'm very Anal when it comes to protecting gadgets.

Oh and if the post is a repost, i dont care because the search feature sucks.

edit: link to forums several threads just about scratches.

I laugh at all the people who jump on products like this and then complain when something goes wrong. Apples sheep are persistent ones. Hmm...I should probably invest in their stock.

The Nano is hot, but it is sad that the first thing you have to worry about is protecting it. If my Treo 650 phone screen was like this i have tons of scratches by now.

OMFG! MY IPOD GOT SCRATCHED!!! THE SKY IS FALLING!

Maybe those Apple complainers need a good hurricane to show them what's really important in life. If they have one in the first place.

I have the Ipod Mini and I carry it around without a case... so far still not 1 scratch on it...

I don't get why you guys say ipod's are scratch magnets

ipod 6gb mini > Ipod 4gb Nano. I know it's discontinued but ask you local Apple Stores for refurbs and get the apple care and it's still cheaper then nano. Battery lasts longer and supports more accesories and remote.

Mine is suppose to be arriving today, but I'm thinking or returning it now. It took 20 years for me to forgive apple too.

No with Treo 650s, you just have to worry about it fvcking rebooting for no reason. If it doesn't happen to yours, consider yourself lucky. But hey, it doesn't scratch. ;)

Don't put the Nano in the same pocket you keep your change in and you'll be fine. Christ, just get a case for it. This has got to be the most overblow crap I've seen in awhile.

you could buy one of those sleeves for it. it's like a nylon pouch with felt/cotton lining that you can keep it in. PDAs and cell phones have em too. apple should have one under it's accessory page

I was disappointed at first at how easily mine got scratched, but then I thought "It's a freaking portable mp3 player, it's going to get scratched". I mean really, it happens. Get over it. The only thing I've done to protect it is I've bought some screen protectors and cut out squares to put over the lcd screen. Works like a champ.

I just heard on the news Apple will repair it for free. Look for a link.
