Hi, yes I use my Nano 7th to run every day. It does not require an external shoe pod as I have read in many reviews claiming it does. It is very basic in operation and I don't have a lot of hope for software revisions in regard to Nike+. I have to prepare for each run like this. 1. Select my playlist and shuffle it. 2. Press the Fitness icon, select run, select distance, and then "now playing". It then tells me to "press start to begin workout" and after pressing it starts to play my list shuffled. The display will go dark briefly after that to conserve power. It will announce only the distance at each mile and also at the halfway point. It will start to give end of run warnings every 100 yards starting at 400 yards. When you finish running you press the main button and the summary display comes up showing a big pause button. After you press that it gives you a vocal summary and displays a calibrate button so you can correct the distance if you know it from experience. I also have the Polar Bluetooth HRM and once paired does not have to be paired for each run. You just have to wait until you plug into Nike+ to see the summary of your run against the HRM curve, etc. etc. I wear it around my waist under my shirt so I have really never tried to interact with it or view it while running but I can't advise it as it is so small you are just a likely to terminate your run tallying as anything else. I bought one of those rubber belt clips for it but kept breaking the spring so I took a hot knife and cut two slots in it and routed my exercise belt through it so it can never fall off. It pretty much stays on the belt all the time and it is all I use it for except for the occasional link to my VW Tiguan's bluetooth audio system.
