being a fairly new iPod owner, the one thing i miss from my dell DJ is the ability to quickly goto a currently playing artist's song library.

for example, if i put the iPod on shuffle all songs, and i come across a Dave Matthew's Band song, i wish you could easily get DMB's song library, without having to go to the main menu. i understand the interface's simplicity is the selling point, but you'd think it could get slightly more robust with each generation.

anyone else think this sucks?

btw, i'm absolutely loving video podcasts via iTunes. there was an NBA playoff video podcast that had last night's highlights from games. very cool.

also, why is it so difficult to get a better "random" play in mp3 players? i understand the problems w/ random numbers in programming, but couldn't they put in some code to skip over songs that have high playcounts?

That's not random. Even if it was, it's likely that you'd normally *want* it to hit those songs, since apaprently they're your favorite songs.

i guess "shuffle" might be a more accurate term.

99% of the time on my iPod, i just goto Shuffle Songs and let it go.

it'd be cool if Apple could put in a little option like "skip frequently played songs" in their Shuffle settings.

I notice this a lot also, I'll get some pretty good sized playlist going on my Ipod and then just let it play on shuffle but notice that a lot of the songs on there will get played a few times while others won't even get touched, to me shuffle should randomly play all the songs in a playlist or whole ipod library without repeating a single one until all others have been played first.

I find myself quite often wishing I could jump to an artists library from the "now playing" screen. I second your feature request

Lol, this response makes me laugh.... Why the hell is random so random anyway?
