iPod Movie Encoder

Jes got my ipod and i wanted to encode a movie for it.....the only program i have is Windows Media Encoder which would take a total of around 20hrs.....thats insane...do you guys know of any other software that can do the job while still being free???


any programs are welcome ty

heres another question.... .dat files...like taken from a VCD....can those get converted faster also?

I have converted several movies from DVD to MPEG - the average time to encode is about 3 hours and 45 minutes. I use DVD-TO-MPEG ver. 2.2. These play just fine in my Zen Vision. Don't know what iPod requires.

Then from MPEG, I can further convert to AVI, MOV, WMV, RM, or VCD with Smart Video Converter Pro.
