Ipod Mini Question

For those of you who have one, is there an auto-resume if you shut the Ipod off? For example, if I'm listening to a 4-5 hour long mp3 of Howard Stern, and turn the Ipod off, will it know where to resume from?

all the ipod minis at the SOHO mac store was sold out and was on a 4 week backorder. people are eating this thing up! i dont see whats so hot about it...i mean for the price its going for

The price is not hot, but I like the extremely small size and firewire connectivity.

Edit for spelling error

That's right it's not hot. I don't know why people don't suffer with a slightly larger 10GB refurb if that's what they want. Or maybe they want colors...

It's all about size. The same reason people pay twice as much for a 2lb laptop instead of an 8lb laptop.

Does the Ipod store charge for shipping and tax? I put my name down on a waiting list at a local Apple store.

Yes, you're charged tax at the Apple.com store. Standard shipping is often free, however.

So I won't kick myself in the ass if I purchase it locally thru a retailer? Thanks.

yes it does, but if you leave it off for a long period of time say a day or 2 without touching it it will completely turn off. There's two seperate modes, OFF and SLEEP. It will sleep first then after a set period of time it will turn off. (those probably aren't the technical terms for it though).

There is a hack you can do to change the time of that IIRC. (edit a file on the ipod)
