ipod makes my pc restart

I just got a 20gb ipod and a firewire card. Every time I plug in the ipod a few minutes later my computer restarts. I am wondering if it is a power issue since the firewire card is powering the ipod. Any ideas?

I built this computer this last summer.

Athlon XP 1800+
Abit KX7-333R Motherboard
512 MB DDR RAM (2700 I think)
ATX power (350w I believe, maybe 240w)
40gb HD
60gb HD
120gb HD
Geforce3
SoundBlaster live
Ethernet Card
IDE controller card
Plexter 40x CD-R
Pioneer 16x dvd player

Any ideas what I could try to get this to work? I thought of maybe trying to find a 4 pin firewire card, so no power would be taken up.
