Ipod/Itunes daily syncing questions

I have a new shuffle and I am trying to find a way to easily load my daily podcasts onto it each morning for my trip to work.

Is there an easy way to have my daily podcasts sync'd to my shuffle each day.

Yes, you can do that in Itunes, but how do I get that over to my shuffle without having to manually copying every thing over everyday.
 
You tell it to only sync the unplayed episodes. So, you plug your shuffle in tonight, you take it with your tomorrow. You listen to the podcasts tomorrow. You plug it in tomorrow night. iTunes sees that you listened to those podcasts, it removes them from your shuffle, it then puts any new unplayed to ones on.
 
where do I tell itunes to sync only the unplayed podcasts to my shuffle. I only see an auto fill button on the content tab. Nothing tells me I can sync only unplayed podcasts.
