ipod / iphone audio jack question

the headphone jack in my ipod video 60gig(I believe they call them classics now) went out in 1 ear. Is there a way to convert the usb port(docking port) into an audio 3.5mm female cable, and plug your headphones into that?

or any other alternatives that don't involve me opening the ipod and soldering a new headphone jack in there?

thank you

Yes. Get something like this:
http://www.buy.com/retail/prod...391&listingid=46107205

And then get an RCA to 3.5mm converter, or cut the RCA plugs off and solder on a headphone jack.

There are cheaper vendors out there for this cable. Alternatively, you can solder your own AV cable, but the connector for an iPod is usually about the price of this cable and it's less work to just buy it premade.
