Ok, just got an IPOD and i need methods to HOLD THE IPOD in my car stereo system.

1) Transpod: I would get the 3rd Gen Transpod except it costs a grip load of $$$ and i don't need the wireless transmitter. That built in wireless transmitter is useless because the soundquality ain't that great and i connect my iPOD through the auxuillary port on my Pioneer.
What is great though is the built in dock/mount and the auto charger.

2) Belkin Auto Charger: This is great except no built in mount.

So essentially: Does anybody have any recommendations for IPOD MOUNT with Charger???

I'd like to know this, too. Currently I have the stereo wired up so the ipod works, but I jsut have to set it on the center console and hope it doesn't slide onto the floor when I go around turns.

I leave mine on the passenger seat or, when there's a passenger there, make them hold it. The passenger seats in my car are cloth so they provide more than enough friction.

I just have mine hooked up to a tape adapter and, since I'm in a small car (Volvo S40) I put it in a cup holder (there is no 'center console' for putting stuff in - just 2 cup holders between the front seats). Then I keep the wired remote on my lap. However, a mounting device would have been handy considering how much driving I did this summer.

Maybe I should stop by a VW dealership and look at that. Maybe I could build something that copies it.

The holder isn't' even that fancy. Doesn't even have a auto charger built in function.

The auto charger function is friggin useful. *sigh* I think Belkin made a feature that had the auto charger and holder but they took it off their web page.

As of now i just use an itrip or a cassette adapter. My ipod has an Iskin case on it so wherever i put it, it stays...even like on the seat or dash. No reall need for a holder. And i dont like to leave it in my car so i just take it out at night plug it into my comp or charger at home to charge it.

the hardest part I'm seeing is getting power to the ipod. I'd use a cigarette lighter adapter for the ipod... but i don't want to splice it.. so i'll get another socket and wire in there somehow.. heh.. i think..... the only other thing is to plug into the inputs on my deck and i'd get the cupholder mount probably.

I bought one of those phone holders and cut the foam off on the sides. That provided just enough room to slide my ipod in.

I mounted the phone holder to my dash board next to the radio, had a little room to fit it in.

Not too fancy, looks nice though. It's also close to me so I can read it.

The poster mounting stuff didn't work in the heat, so I drilled 2 small hole with me dremel and screwed it in.

They do have an adjustable width, but my ipod was slightly too wide and had a hard time getting it in.

That's why I cut the foam out.

Works fine now.

Scroll down to MODEL CM625 - Sale $49.95 / Reg. $59.95. Great holder and it fits perfect. You'll still need to buy a auto charger if you want one though.

I ordered by CM-625 from K&B Electronics for $33.63 shipped two weeks ago, and should be getting it next week. It was backordered when I placed my order, was shipped yesterday. Now $31.99 plus shipping.
