Ipod Help ! - 10 GB Old vs New

I got a 10 gb mac ipod, couldn't exchange it at bby or compusa because it was the old model that they dont sell

I found this guy.. ipod mac - win converter

The problem is does the os/firmware work for all ipod or just certain revisions ?

Anyone converted ?

it should work. from my knowledge, the only difference between the mac and pc versions is the file format of the drive. all the software does is convert from fat32 ->ntfs and vice versa

actually i have the older 10 gb, which use a different drive, its actually thicker than the new pc one.. but i hope everything else is the same...

If I remember correctly, XPlay, the third-party iPod software, will actually work with a Mac iPod. http://www.mediafour.com/products/xplay/ Anybody know if this is still true?
