Ipod fm tuner killing ipods?

well my coworker bought this tuner made by "newer technologies" and used it for a few weeks. he was happy wtih it until suddenly his ipod stopped working. no response. nothing on the display.

well i thought it was a fluke and borrowed his tuner for a few weeks. it was really handy for my long road trips, until last week. my ipod died in a similar manner. only 4 months old.

so my coworker calls them to get an RMA, and the csr said they've never heard of this before and that they would replace the product and test it to ensure nothing bad happens...

anyhow, anyone ever experience tuners that are i-thrashers?

cliffs:
1) tuner killed friend's ipod and my ipod

Newer Technologies puts out some good products. Their processor upgrades for Macs are what they are really known for. Also, there external drives are very well known too.

Hmmm... so if they give you a new FM tuner, aren't you still F'ed w/ a non-responsive iPod? 😕

almost... fortunately my ipod is under 6 months old, so i'm in the middle of it getting replaced. apple replaces ur broken ipod for free.

I haven't heard about any problems with the Griffin iTrip models. Everyone seems to like them, but I still use a cassette adapter for better sound quality.

Once you have the replacements, I'd give the duo another try; h*ll the iPod would still be under warranty for 6 more months, just a thought to save you some $ 🙂
