I have a coworker interested in purchasing an iPOD so that she can listen to books on tape/CD. She went to an Apple store, and they weren't able to answer her question...so I thought someone here might know.

Can you even convert books on CD to mp3s through iTunes? If so, how much capacity would a book typically take up?

Capacity being the driving issue, would you recommend an iPod or Nano for this specific use?
 
yes you can convert, you can convert them to 64kps cause they are just voice, you could store a lot of books on an Ipod
