Hi, my friend brought me his ipod and asked if there was anyway I could fix it. What he told me is that he was restoring it on a friends computer because it wanted to get the jailbreak off it, or restart the ipod, what happened was the screen went white and shut off, now it wont turn on at all no matter what button combinations I press. I have plugged it in while doing a hold down on power and home for 10 seconds or more, it detected it but then it failed and the ipod just stopped responding, im not sure what to do here but any help would be appreciated.

When it is plugged in, iTunes doesn't detect it? It should be very difficult to brick the device when jailbreaking.

Heres what I did. It was off and I plugged it in, it then showed the battery empty with the little charging symbol above it, like when you run out of battery and plug it back in that happens. After it had enough charge(still plugged in) It booted up and had the little usb cord with an arrow up to itunes which is what you see when you first turn an apple product on or do a restore I think. I let that sit for about 5 minutes, and within those 5 minutes itunes did not pick up on it at all, didnt even come up saying it detected an ipod in recovery state. After those 5 minutes it did this, the white screen thing.

I let this sit for 10 minutes plugged in, nothing still a white screen. Then 5 minutes unplugged, nothing still a white screen. I then held down the home and power button for 10 seconds and it just shut off. Now its sitting there plugged in and off. Im going to try to reboot it unplugged and see if it goes to the usb into itunes picture or white screen.
