Ipod Accessories Questions!! HELP PLZ! :)

so after contemplating buying an ipod for quite a while now, and gradually building up my music collection in the time being i've decided to take the plunge!

i've been checking out the apple site and amazon but i'm still not sure about certain things and since i live in brazil i want to buy all necessary accessories in one go...

ok, so i want the 60GB Ipod Video... its only 25 bucks more expensive than the photo and looks cooler (black version) and is smaller so thats a no-brainer

- according to amazon.com it comes with earbud headphones and a usb cable...and 14 hours muic playback

- according to apple.com it comes with earbud headphones, usb cable, dock adapter and case... and 20 hours music playback

which is true?
both descriptions are for the 60GB Black Ipod Video...


- regarding the headphones, these look like the best fit for me... they are "Earbud Headphones" .. are these the same ones that ship with the ipod or are these different? both 'earbud headphones' so i'm not quite sure...

- what do i need the dock for?
as far as i know, the basic purpose of the dock is to save you from the hassle of plugging and unplugging a usb cable to charge it/sync it... tasks that could otherwise be completed by plugging the included usb cable into your computer without the need for the dock...

am i missing something? it looks cool but i'm not gonna spend 40 bucks on it if its not strictly necessary...

what else do i need?

i'm guessing probably a USB power adapter so i can charge it away from home... and that would use the included cable so that's no problem...
and maybe a protective skin too...

also, do you guys recommend buying from the apple store or from amazon.com
about the discrepancies regarding bundled accessories i'm guessing maybe amazon doesn't ship the full box that apple does but if there's no difference i might as well use amazon cause i've bought from there before...

as far as the head phones go those are not the ones that ship with the ipod. at least not with mine(30gb video). are you planning on playing it the car at all? if you are then i would get a car charger over a regular charger. otherwise i think a wall charger would be a good thing if you are away from your computer alot. i bought mine from apple cause if you are a student you can get a student discount which i think is like 30 bucks. not a lot but that could buy a good accesory like the wall charger.

well they come with the dock attachment, not the dock. it's a little filler piece that fits the old docks that went with the other versions of the ipods.

Those headphones are the ear thumps or whatever. The earbuds that come with the ipod are just the generic white headphones that just slide in your ear and are slightly uncomfortable imo

you dont NEED the dock... I dont have it and it works fine for me

The 30 gig ipod video has 14 hours of playback but i'm not sure about the 60 gig

Get a case. agent 18 case (I bought the videoshield with a 40% off) is nice.
