iPhoto issues

I am having trouble importing pictures from my camera to iPhoto. It has worked flawlessly for the past couple weeks. Now when I plug my camera in, it brings up iPhoto, but does not import the pics. Is there are size limit? I know I have like 500+ photos on the camera, but I didn't think that would matter. Tried restarting, but it didn't help. Ideas?
