iPhoto being iDumb

I pulled a ton of jpg photos off my PC on to my mac mini so i could slideshow them using iPhoto, however they show up in Preview on the mac just fine but iPhoto is being a piece of crap and says un recognized file format! IT"S A JPEG U STUPID PROGRAM. Anyways it works to import pictures directly off my camera into iPhoto but it doesnt look like I have a chance of importing those uncompatible jpg photos.... lol Anyone have a solution or is this just apple being stupid like the lack of a cd drive eject button lol.

I don't see how the lack of an eject button has anything to do with stupid or with this issue.

If you take one photograph from your, say, CD that has the JPGs, and you drag it into iPhoto 5.04 (check that's the version you've got; you don't mention a version and subversion in your post), what is the _exact_ error message? What is the full name of this one selected picture on the Mac?

Mac OS 10.4, iPhoto 10.4, these were transfered over the network from another computer, they open in preview or web browsers just fine on the Mac, but iPhoto won't load them gives me an incompatible file error.

The eject button doesn't have anything to do with it, I just think that it's so stupid it's funny.

There is no iPhoto 10.4. What version of iPhoto do you have?

Again, what is the *exact* error you get? Spell it out, complete with dialog box headers and the like. Please go thru my first post and answer ALL the questions.

This is trying to import one photo, if i grab more it'll just list them all.
