Hello,
I've posted before and asked for advice about I-phone versus Blackberry Tour. Thank you for your advice.

I ended up getting the I-phone, and so far am not too happy with it. I admit I really haven't spent much time with it, so this could just be "getting used to pains".
Complaints:
#1 I don't like typing on virtual keyboard so far. This might grow on me, but so far Blackberry keyboard much easier.
#2 When you import your contacts from Outlook, it doesn't keep "category" information. (or does it?), so it is impossible to view your contacts by category.
#3 I was so excited to see syncing built into Itunes... But then...I have multiple contact files spread across multiple .pst files... I haven't been able to find a way to get them to sync properly (i.e. I can't specify in I-tunes which contact files to use, can I? I wish I could... then the I-tunes importer would be so convenient).
#4 Tour supports tethering right?... that is nice advantage.
#5 Bloomberg has a "real" app for blackberry, the app for I-phone is a free app for everyone without much functionality.

Anyway, my 30 day trial period is almost up, need to decide to keep/return Iphone. If I return it, I'll get a Tour.

The purpose of my phone is for my business, so business functionality most important. Of course, games, movies, music etc are fun, but definitely shouldn't be deciding factor in picking my phone.

Any advice from you phone-guru's appreciated. Stick with I-phone? Get Tour?

Personally I think a BB makes a much better business phone than an Iphone. For #1, you knew that going in. The iphone may have the best software keyboard but it is still a software keyboard.

#4 Yes the Tour supports tethering. You can do bluetooth DUN very easily.

Have you considered the Bold? I have a Tour a love it but if ATT have 3G in my area I would have went with the Bold. I like its keyboard better plus it has the combo of 3G and wifi.

Drop it and get a Tour.

EDIT: As the main BB exponent in here I thought I'd add that it was simply based upon your requirements and current experience. If the iPhone was a better fit, I would have suggested that instead.

As one of the pro-iPhone guys on the forum, my opinion is... to drop it and get a Bold or a Tour, but I like the Bold better because I generally have better WiFi where I am than cell phone service.. but if you don't need WiFi, then Tour is the way to go.

If you want a business phone, you want a Blackberry - for all of the reasons that you mentioned (keyboard, catagories, tethering and better business apps).

I'd say go with the Tour solely for the physical keyboard. You can type much faster and efficiently.

If you're using it purely and mainly for business, I'd probably go with the blackberry. My company doesn't require me to have an extensive business phone so the iPhone fits me pretty well, I just have to sync with their exchange server.

Does it have a shift key?

yeah...actually it does :p.

I am the same way, used blackberries for a long time, but the iphone is something I much more prefer.

once for shift, twice for cap locks. Which in turn gives me more A-L space due to no pesky cap locks key

virtual landscape KB > physical portrait one ;)

if i understand what tethering is (using your device to connect your laptop to the internet), is it supported for the tour on verizon? if so, i might have to think about getting it

edit: apparently its 15 a month. oh well. won't be doing that
