I really don't see Apple releasing a different device for Verizon than for ATT...that seems like it would be a huge hassle for them and app developers.

The rumored dates for WWDC are like June 20 or 22, right? So we would be looking at a July release day I bet.

No necessarily. They may announce it then and not release it for months. That would keep the hype machine going and probably kill lots of sales of other handsets during the wait.

Ehh, I guess, but I don't see that as a very compelling reason for them to change the way things have worked in the past. It also makes more sense for OS4.0 to come out when the new phone does, and they already pegged that as 'this summer.'

The last few WWDC's have been around the 1st or 2nd week of June, I'd be really surprised if it weren't the case. I can say that I was in Building 3 of Apple this week on unrelated business, which is most of the developers relations and dev website stuff, and they were in much more of a rush than a late June WWDC would require. We'll see soon enough, they have to announce it soon.

OK, so some of you know I have contacts in the mobile industry, so I heard the other day of some interesting info from Carphone Warehouse. For those that don't know CW, they are the biggest shifter of units in Europe and also own Best Buy in the US.

OT, but CW does not own BB. BB owns 50% of CW.

WAGS (wild ass guesses)

The iPhone Nano cant be that small or the touch screen would be unusable. It has been theorized that a smaller phone would work well for developing contrries (think China, India, etc) Problem is, it still must be readable & workable as a touchscreen. I don't see it happening myself. Particularly when Apple has $100 iPhones for sale. I can see the 3GS or the 3G modified a bit and sold for cheap though for a lower price point entry into the walled garden. The other reason I discount a Nano, is that with electronics, smaller usually equals more expensive, they can sell an older platform cheaper than they can build a tiny phone.

iPhone Nano, maybe 25% chance of being real

Front facing camera. I dunno again, video conferencing uses crazy bandwith, maybe on WiFi only, but that doesn't make any sense either, since if you're on WiFi, you're near a computer that likely has a camera.

Front Facing Camera 50%

Video. Theyll crank up the video to 720p and have HDMI, or a high res output somehow.

higher res video 100%

CPU...It will rock the iPad CPU.

iPad CPU 100%

OLED, I hope to hell not, the one on my N1 is shit in the sunlight. Californians love the sun and iPhones, I say they stay with current tech as far as a screen. They'll crank up the resolution though.

OLED 0%

Verizon...LOL, I have a bet riding on that one. The reason the iPhone will go to Verizon? Jobs ego, theyre losing a lot of sales by not being on Verizon. Theey cant leverage Verizon like they did ATT and they wont make as much money per phone, but the iPhone will go to Verizon sooner rather than later. Some tracking company actually saw 3 iPhones on Verizon recently. The other reason the R&D for a CDMA iPone is that S. Korea is CDMA, and they love iPhones, a big potential market outside the US.

iPhone on Verizon in 2010 75%

iPhone on Verizon in 2011 100%

Also, I think Android OS phones will eclipse iPhone sales in about 18 months, and honestly, Apple will do fine after that happens, the smartphone market is huge and getting bigger every day. They've had an amazing run.
